How to measure for closet doors

October 24, 2016 by Uncategorized No Comments

Replacing closet doors can see like a daunting task if you have never done it before. There are so many different kinds and sizes and not to mention they can get really heavy! While we can’t help on the install, we can offer you some advice. That’s why we have a few hints to get you started in the right direction. First you need to gather some measurements. Measure the width of your doorway from each inside edge. Take multiple measurements at different heights. Depending on the year your home was built or the quality of the framer, there may be some varying sizes due to settlement or just poor craftsmanship. Next you will want to measure the height of your doorway from the floor to the inside edge. Do the same thing here by taking at least two measurements in case your doorway leans a little one way or the other. If you do find that your door is not exactly square, you have a few options. The first option would be to re-frame the doorway. This requires removing the trim and jamb by cutting away what you currently have and making the corners and edges square. If you are making this a DIY project this may be more of a headache than you want. Most likely you will end up with a larger doorway here than you had in the beginning. Another option you have is to opt for a door that will fit within the perimeters you have been given. The result of this will be a gap in some areas and no gap in other areas. These imperfections can be hidden with some trim added along the edges of your doorway. If you are lucky enough to have a square doorway, you simply need to go […]

How to Know if Your Dentist is Mercury Safe

June 4, 2016 by Uncategorized No Comments

Before you decide to leave your security in the hands of someone else, it is always important for you to make sure you are at your best so far. You have to be the one person who really cares for your own safety, before anyone else. You must make sure that you take your time to learn as much as you can about your health, so that when you encounter someone who might challenge you or do something questionable, you should be able to face up to it accordingly. San Diego Dentist, Paige Woods DDS: “When it comes to dealing with mercury in your body and holistic dentistry, there are so many things that you will need to learn about. One thing that is for sure is that mercury is not safe, and has never been safe for your body. This is in fact the one thing that holistic dentistry is all about, trying to make you safe, feel safe and stay healthier throughout.” The premise here lies in the fact that your teeth are just as important as any other part of your body. In fact, if anything happens to your teeth, it will certainly affect the rest of your body too. So far scientists have been working around lots of innovations, particularly in medicine, and you would be surprised to see how far we have come over the past few years. So many people are now able to live longer, thanks to a higher life expectancy rate. The only challenge here is that the medical fraternity will constantly need to stay informed of the developments that are taking place. As a patient, you pretty much have no choice other than praying that the practitioner you are working with is on some of the best information so far. Yours […]

How To Test For Toxic Mold In Your Home

June 17, 2015 by Uncategorized No Comments

Here’s something you may not realize: while some people are better housekeepers than others and some people pay more attention to small details like changes in their homes over time, every home is potentially susceptible to toxic mold. And no matter how bad or good your housekeeping is, there are San Diego mold removal professionals who can come in and assess whether you have a problem with mold and determine what can be done about it. At first glance, it may appear there’s absolutely nothing wrong with the structure of your home. But mold can creep into any kind of home at any time. While those that aren’t cleaned regularly and thoroughly may be particularly susceptible, the most common cause of mold is a leaking roof, flood damage or water damage from a malfunctioning air conditioning unit or other appliance. In many cases, cleanliness has absolutely nothing to do with it. No matter the circumstances, mold can be a very serious health concern for you and your family. Yet it sits in a corner of your kitchen or bathroom unnoticed for days, weeks or even months. But when you live in a home with a mold — even a small amount of it — you can show symptoms of mold toxicity. Mold exposure symptoms include fits of sneezing, red and irritated eyes and problems breathing. But everyone’s body reacts differently, and you could experience a different set of symptoms. No matter the symptoms, they aren’t something you want to experience, and you need to get your home tested if you have even the slightest indication that mold could be causing your health problems. Mold testing can determine whether mold is present and how bad the infestation is. Plus, some mold types are more dangerous to human health than others, and […]
